Our story
In 2010 we established NEWWAVE-european hearing solutions, the first foreigned owned and run hearing care clinic in Shanghai, China. We were providing cutting edge hearing care technology with highest standards of fitting and follow up care, and at the same time focusing on prevention of hearing offering hearing protection from european and american hearing protection brands.
While conducting hearing care programs in factories with hazardious noise, fitting workers with silicon earplugs and custom made earplugs, we were shocked to observe the enormous amount of foam earplugs being used and thrown away every day. Knowing that single use foam earplugs are not degradable and that they most likely end up in a landfill polluting ground and water, we started thinking how we can change this industry and contribute to a safer environment.
Living in Shanghai over 10 years we experienced how deteroriating water- and air quality made our of lives worse. Year by year we got more often sick, we started coughing constantly, when too high pollution we couldn't be outside, and we had to be more careful choosing the food we were eating and the water we were drinking. These are only a few negative aspects of increasing pollution that we experienced first hand, and then there are all the other impacts increased pollution is doing to earth, animals and people.

This is why we are developing biodegradeable earplugs.

Daniel Marcin Balicki graduated from the University of Poznan, Poland where he obtained a master’s degree in Science in Physics.
He continued his education at the University of Wroclaw in Poland where he earned a certificate in Audiology and Hearing Prosthetics. In 2005 Daniel came to China and joined GN Resound where he worked as an Audiologist and Product Manager for Interton, Beltone and GN Resound brands. Additionally, he was responsible for product and audiology training throughout Asia.

Petter Buvik Vibe graduated as an Audiologist from Høgskolen i Sør- Trøndelag (HIST), Trondheim. After his graduation he worked at Nordlandssykehuset (Regional central hospital in Nordland), at the ENT department. In 2008 Petter came to China and joined GN Resound where he worked as Audiologist for Interton, Beltone and GN Resound brands.
